Elizabeth Billings

Ms. Billings lives in Tunbridge. Her work, on both a small and a grand scale, is shown nationally and internationally, and resides in many private, public, and corporate collections, including two large installations at the Burlington airport, done in collaboration with Andrea Wasserman. She holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.

In “Sticks on a Leaf” her apprenticeship to Japanese ikat weavers is apparent. In a unique use of the leaf as framework, the masterful weaving and stitching of natural saplings evokes an emotional response to the strength, balance, and serenity that the piece conveys.
