Ms. Brown lives in South Burlington. She has illustrated several children's books, including the I Can Read series for early readers. Among these titles, written by Vermont author Katherine Paterson, is the well-known The Smallest Cow in the World. and Marvin's Best Christmas Present Ever.
“Kayaker,” in ink and watercolor, incorporates elements of collage as well, in the paddles of the kayaker, one of which cleverly appears to be slightly submerged in the waves of the stream.
