Mr. Ferris lives in Windsor. He has an MFA from Indiana University and was a painter, showing in New York, for 30 years. In New England, he turned to sculpture in wood and stone, creating mostly outdoor pieces. His work, much of it of an Oriental flavor, is found in public and private gardens throughout the U.S.
“Fall Leaf” is a fallen autumn maple leaf, still bearing its brilliant colors, but already showing signs of its inevitable return to the earth to begin anew the eternal cycle of life and death.
