Mr. Hathaway lives in Richmond. His usual medium is sculptured metals (and, lately, photography). His sculptures are made up of delicate, vibrant shapes that seem to hang in the air by magic. Influenced by Art Deco, his art conveys an exuberance and whimsy that are life affirming and celebratory.
