Mr. Haynes lives in Wilder. He has studied traditional design and techniques with Inuit artists and, for many years, designed and made jewelry in the Upper Valley. He now focuses his artistic energy on painting and sculpture. When asked where he gets his inspiration, Don says, “I paint where I want to be.”
With his “Maple Leaf Concert,” he has brought us with him into a magic land, peopled by musical elves. The acrylic painting includes a bonus image on the reverse, done in a Mennonite style beautifully complementing the fantasy which has transformed a single maple leaf into an entire enchanted forest.
