Gail Barton lives in Windsor. She studied art at the Boston Museum School and later involvement in Native American arts and crafts included sketching Barrow eskimo artifacts on a Smithsonian grant.

Gail combines a medical career (she is a psychiatrist) with an artistic one that includes a wide range of media: painting, drawing, watercolor, sculpture, photography, fabric arts, basketry, etc. She has exhibited and been collected extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Her double leaf provides, in “Vermont Doorway”, an intimate view of the home of a gifted gardener and, in “Vermont Scenery with Barn”, a panoramic vista of farmyard, meadow, mountains, and sky. Each view is rendered in bold colors and an economy of line that approaches the expressionistic.
