Programs for Kids


100 Fall Frolics and Finds is back! From now through December 31st, explore Windsor and find as many items as you can on the "find-it" list.  Everyone who finds all 100 items will receive a prize.  If no one finds all 100 items, then the person who finds the most will be the sole winner!  All items must be found somewhere in Windsor.

Enchanted Forest: Saturday, October 12.  Take a stroll through Paradise Park and enjoy fireside tales by local storytellers.  This event is for all ages and admission is free, though a timed ticket is required.  Sessions begin at 5:00, 5:15 and 5:30.  Stop in the Library to pick up tickets.
Dentists Against Halloween, A Halloween Breakout Game:  Friday, October 18 at 1:00pm.  Solve clues and puzzles to find out what's inside the box!  For grades 1-5.
3DDoodle Pens! Friday, October 25 at 2:30pm.  Use our 3D pens to create objects you can take home.  Ages 7 and up. 
Hunter Safety Program. Must attend ALL dates:  Tuesdays, October 8, 15, 22 6:00-9:00pm at the Library; Thursdays, October 10, 17, 24 6:00-9:00pm at the Library; Saturday October 26 8:00am-4:00pm (at Precision Valley Fish and Game Association, Perkinsville)
Pre-registration is required by calling the library at 802-674-2556 before October 1st. Limit 20.
This is a combination Hunter Education and Bow Hunter Course with Instructor Dick Odette.  Successful completion of this course will allow you to purchase both a firearms and archery hunting license.  Topics include:  Conservation; Ethics; Firearms Safety/Security; Bow Hunting; Outdoor Safety and Survival; Compass and Map Reading; Tracking Wounded Game; Wilderness Survival Exercises.  This class involves reading and homework and is open to persons of any age (under 16 must have parental forms signed the first night of class).

Recurring programs:

Preschool story time, every Wednesday at 10:30am:
Caregivers and their children are welcome as we share stories, songs, and crafts. For ages 0-5 with parent or caregiver.
After School Program, every Wednesday at 2:45ish when school is in session:
For kids in grades K-6. Each week will feature a story, a project, and a snack.  Older kids are also  welcome to come and assist the Librarian.  Program is not held on school holidays or snow days.

Stuffed Animal Repair:  Call to schedule an appointment 802-674-2556: Do you have a stuffed animal in need of repair? You can bring in that special friend. Sue Spears, Stuffed Animal Repair Specialist, has many years of experience repairing stuffed animals and is providing this fabulous service for free! If it doesn’t need to be repaired, bring it anyway, and let her give it a checkup, get your favorite friend registered, find out more about it, and say “Hi”. Please call to schedule an appointment.
